Stewardship of Gifts  “Renewing Our Service”

Key Scripture:  Jeremiah 1:4-9

Today’s Focus:    God builds up those who are called to serve Him.

My Decision:       I will realize that God has placed His call upon my life.

God Calls Us to Serve Him:  Jeremiah 1:4-5

           1.        We have been      saved      to serve.     Ephesians 2:8-9

           2.        We have been      gifted      to serve.     Romans 12:6-8

We Are Often Reluctant to Accept God’s Call:                          Jeremiah 1:6

           1.        Reluctance may be based on past      failures     .

           2.        Reluctance may be based on our      upbringing     .

           3.        Reluctance may be based on unrealistic      expectations     .

           4.        Reluctance may be based on faulty      theology     .

           5.        Reluctance may be overcome by thinking more      positively     .

           6.        Reluctance may be overcome by taking      responsibility  .

God Has a Plan for Us to Serve Him Effectively:  Jeremiah 1:7-9

           1.        All of us can serve effectively, through His      grace     .                     

2 Corinthians 12:9, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect     in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

           2.        All of us can serve efficiently, through His      strength     .                   

Jeremiah 1:18, “Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the people of the land.”
